LED Technology

The LED (Light-Emitting Diode) is a semiconductor device that turns electricity into light. This occurs by direct action on the structure of matter, where energy is released by electrons orbiting around the nucleus.
The LED produces so-called “solid-state lighting” due to the fact that the light is generated by a solid object rather than by the gas-filled glass tubes used in traditional light sources.
LED technology applied to room lighting is the most important inovation in the past few years.
The development of this technology and its rapid evolution has made it possible to produce new generation, high-power LEDs, real illuminators, with excellent lighting technology characteristics, which can be used as an alternative to conventional light sources.
Although these new technologies require higher initial investments, their efficiency means appreciable energy saving and reduced maintenance costs, enabling rapid returns on the investments made.
